#266: remembered widget approvals (lotus.widgetConsent.*) survived logout,
so they applied silently to the next account on the device and listed the
previous account's rooms; clearPlaintextCaches now sweeps them. Space
structure, call membership and Lotus room-policy state join
PROTECTED_STATE_TYPES, so no widget can be granted them.
#267: any website could auto-submit a form to /share-target and land the
user in the share picker with attacker-chosen text and files. The worker
now refuses a share whose Origin is another site. (Sec-Fetch-Site, as the
issue suggested, never reaches a service worker: checked in Chromium.)
Origin null/absent, as the OS share sheet sends, stays accepted, and
/share now says the content came from another app or website. Both logout
paths await clearSharedPayload(); the server-forced one also clears the
soundboard clip cache, as #57 intended.

A timed mute writes a server-side push rule (muted everywhere), but the
unmute timer lived in one browser's localStorage: close that laptop and
the room stayed muted on the phone until it was reopened, and forever
after a logout there. Timers now live in account data
(io.lotus.mute_timers: { timers: { [roomId]: unmuteAt } }). Every
client schedules from it, reschedules when it changes, and the first one
online after expiry unmutes. An indefinite mute clears a pending timer.
Local timers from before are migrated once.

- #319: logout wiped the drafts, then reloaded, and the reload's pagehide
made RoomInput flush the open composer's (decrypted) draft straight back
to localStorage. clearPlaintextCaches now sets a module flag and
persistDraft stops writing once it's set (resets with the new page).
- #296: the device-wide encrypted-search opt-in (searchCacheEnabled)
survived logout, so the next account started indexing decrypted text
without opting in. It's now cleared, along with the SDK's per-user
filter key.
Verified headless with a throwaway account (search opt-in on, "SECRET
half-typed reply" in the composer, Settings → Log out): before, the draft
and searchCacheEnabled=true remained; now neither does. Unit test added.

Logout left lotus-per-user-volume (Element Call's per-person volume map:
whom the previous user called and turned up/down; same origin on the web)
and settings-sync-meta:<userId> (a key naming the account) in
localStorage. clearPlaintextCaches now removes both; device preferences
(`settings`) are kept as before.
Verified: after joining/leaving a call and logging out via Settings, both
keys are gone (unit test added).

One "security" strip, in the same top slot and style as the status banner
(#124), for this device, in priority order:
- "Verify this device" — cross-signing exists but this device isn't
verified (can't unlock backed-up history, untrusted to others). First,
because verifying with the recovery key also connects the backup.
- "Connect this device to your key backup" — a backup exists, this device
isn't using it.
- "Set up key backup" — no backup at all (includes accounts without
cross-signing; the setup flow does both).
The button opens Settings → Devices (existing flows); "Not now" snoozes.
Rules: nothing in a device's first 24 h; "Not now" snoozes that nudge 7
days; 3 dismissals stop it; never on a healthy device; waits until sync
has settled (never under "Connecting…"); outage/maintenance/connection
strips win. Per-device record in localStorage, wiped on logout. Mounted
inside the Matrix client context and an error boundary (an early version
outside the context crashed the app on load — caught before pushing).
Also: the status strip wraps its text on phones instead of truncating it
when there's no Details button (benefits #124's strips too).
Design approved on #123 (real-client screenshots there). Tests: 4 unit
(the #123 state table, loading, timing, stored record); e2e: nothing during
the grace period, "Set up key backup" → Settings → Devices, "Not now"
holds across a reload. Unit 1319, Playwright 29 passed.

Until now a send that failed (offline, homeserver down, a blip) went
straight to "Failed to send": nothing retried it, and a reload dropped it
without trace (chronological pending ordering keeps local echoes in memory
only).
- Outbox (utils/outbox.ts + features/outbox/OutboxFeature): own message
sends (text, stickers, reactions, polls; not call signalling or
redactions) are mirrored to localStorage from their first local echo until
the server confirms them or the user cancels.
- After a reload they come back as local echoes via room.addPendingEvent,
same shape as the SDK's own. Recent ones (< 1 h) are sent again with the
same txnId; older ones come back as "Failed to send" for the user to
retry or cancel. Ones the server already has (transaction id seen in
/sync) are dropped, so no duplicates.
- Retries: network failures (ConnectionError, 408/429/5xx) are re-sent when
the connection returns (sync recovers or the browser goes back online),
and after a blip while online (5 s, backing off, max 10 per message).
Oldest first, in order per room. 4xx / consent / encryption failures are
left to the user.
- UI: a network failure while offline shows a clock, "Queued. Will send
when you're back online" (thread view too), not the red ✕. The ✕ is now
a button: click to retry.
- Logout wipes the outbox with the other plaintext caches (the content is
decrypted, like drafts).
Tested end to end against a local Synapse (Chromium): offline → queued →
sent once on reconnect; homeserver unreachable → queued → sent once; failed
send → reload → sent once and shown once; server accepted but response lost
→ reload → no duplicate; 2 h old entry → failed, not sent, click ✕ → sent;
cancel → gone after reload; encrypted room → restored message goes out as
m.room.encrypted with no plaintext and decrypts; one-off failure retried by
itself in ~5 s; no page errors. Unit tests for the pure parts; Playwright
20 passed.

While joined, a device-local record {roomId, deviceId, joinedAt,
lastSeen, mic, video} is written and refreshed every 30 s; a deliberate
hangup (HangupCall/Close) and logout clear it. On the next start, once
the first sync is in and the room's MatrixRTC session has reported its
members (waited for up to 10 s — it fills a moment after sync), a fresh
record (< 10 min) for this device with someone still in the call yields
either a sticky "Rejoin voice?" toast (tap to rejoin) or an automatic
rejoin, per the new Settings → Calls → After a Restart (Ask / Rejoin
automatically / Do nothing; default Ask). Skipped when our own membership
is already live from another device, or only our stale one is left.
Mic/camera state comes from the record (camera still gated by
cameraOnJoin); PTT is applied by startCall as usual.
Pure decision in utils/callRejoin.ts with tests. Verified headless:
reload mid-call → toast → tap → back in the call; hangup → reload → no
toast; auto mode → back in without a prompt.

Of the two plaintext-localStorage items in #204, composer drafts were already
swept on logout (#41); the presence status message + expiry were deliberately
kept. They are PII with an authoritative copy in server presence, so sweep
them too. The test's localStorage mock now enumerates keys like the real
Storage object, so the prefix sweeps (drafts, status) are actually exercised —
the old 'draft preserved' assertion only passed because Object.keys() saw
nothing.

draft-msg-<roomId> was unscoped and deliberately skipped on logout, then
hydrated into whoever logged in next. Wipe drafts in clearPlaintextCaches,
and only hydrate a draft whose stored userId matches the current user.
Drafts written before this change carry no userId and are dropped on
first load (a one-time loss of unsent drafts, accepted for the leak fix).

Several localStorage caches held decrypted message content or user PII and
survived a normal logout, leaving residue on a shared device (the search
index was already wiped; these were not):
- cinny_scheduled_messages_v1 - decrypted IContent.body of pending sends
- cinny_recent_searches_v1 - search query text
- cinny_recent_forward_targets_v1 - recent forward contact/room graph
- cinny_recent_gifs_v1 / cinny_recent_stickers_v1 - media the user sent
- navToActivePath<userId> - per-space last-visited room paths
- (plus the translation cache added earlier)
Add a clear function per module and a single auditable clearPlaintextCaches()
aggregator, called from both logout paths (logoutClient + the server-forced
SessionLoggedOut handler) alongside the existing session/search-index wipes.
Unit-tested.
Deliberately NOT cleared (documented in the aggregator): unsent composer
drafts and the presence status message (preserved by product decision N98);
SDK sync/crypto store + io.lotus.* account data (reminders/bookmarks/notes),
already wiped by mx.clearStores(); low-sensitivity UI/metadata residue.
The forward-targets/gifs/stickers/nav-path additions and the accurate
"not covered" documentation address findings from two review passes.
