The status-line footer (devdesk-statusline) and the Sessions tooltip print cost.total_cost_usd, the cost Claude Code estimates at API list prices. On a Pro/Max plan nothing is billed per token, so the figure is misleading (one session showed $1,186).

Fix: when Claude sends rate_limits (subscribers only), the footer shows 5h N% plan usage and the tooltip leaves out the dollar figure. API-key billing still shows the dollars.

Also: bats setup now unsets DevDesk env (DEVDESK_REMOTE_CONTROL, CLAUDE_ARGS, TMUX…), so the tests pass when run from inside a DevDesk session.
