From the settings audit #453 (report: https://claude.ai/artifact/L34kAp1L7jdvomjHHbeuzZ). Phase 3.

Now: with about 110 options there's no way to find one except scrolling and guessing.

Change: a search box at the top of the settings sidebar.

  • Matching: it filters by setting title and description across every page.
  • Results: a list of matches, each with its page name.
  • Picking a result: opens that page, scrolls to the setting and briefly highlights it.
  • Shortcuts: Ctrl/Cmd+F while settings are open focuses the box, and Esc clears it.
  • Maintenance: works for options added later without a hand-kept index, for example by indexing the setting tiles' titles and descriptions.

Done when: typing e.g. "deafen", "tracking" or "zoom" finds the right setting in one step, on desktop and mobile.
