LOTUS_FEATURES.md was last edited on 2026-09-19 (68ce13f0), and many earlier features never made it in. LOTUS_REFERENCE.md says shipped features are documented there, but a keyword search for each feat: commit since the fork found 55 features with no mention. Each line has its commit; the features were spot-tested in this audit unless noted in the tracking index.

Also stale in LOTUS_REFERENCE.md: the "Blocked Features" list says it was "re-checked on 1.157.1". Production now runs Synapse 1.162.0. Re-checked during this audit:

  • Still unadvertised: live location (MSC3489/3672) and relation redaction (MSC3892).
  • Still false: thread subscriptions (MSC4306), sticky events (MSC4354) and QR login (MSC4108).
  • New option: org.matrix.msc3026.busy_presence is advertised (false). Enabling it would give DND a real presence state; see #283.
  • Fine despite the docs: MSC3266 room summary and MSC4222 are no longer listed in unstable_features, but room preview still works (im.nheko.summary and v1/room_summary both 200).

Suggestion: a CI check that fails a feat: PR which doesn't touch LOTUS_FEATURES.md (or a PR-template checkbox).

Found in the October 2026 client audit (Playwright against a local Synapse + LiveKit stack, plus code reading). Code refs are at cinny 30e2dbcd, cinny-desktop 8f67ec7, element-call 3b0050e8.
