Production manifest.json:

  • Portrait lock. "orientation": "portrait" locks the installed app on Android and tablets. You can't rotate to watch a video, a screenshare or a call in landscape. That matters for #126 (landscape call view) and for tablets in general.
  • Shortcut goes nowhere useful. shortcuts[0] is "New Message — Open a new direct message", but its url is /, so it opens the app home rather than a new DM.

Fix

  • Drop orientation, or use "any".
  • Point the shortcut at the DM create route (/direct/create/), or rename it to "Open Lotus Chat".

Found in the October 2026 client audit (Playwright against a local Synapse + LiveKit stack, plus code reading). Code refs are at cinny 30e2dbcd, cinny-desktop 8f67ec7, element-call 3b0050e8.
